I'm in love with Pinterest. It's full of great ideas and is so easy to organize anything you'd like to remember. One of my first Pins was of these storage bags. When my mom got on Pinterest she saw them on my board, made a pattern, bought some fabric and got to work.
She sent me a variety in the mail and I love them. They make my toy box much more manageable and I love how I can match the theme with what I'm storing in them- GOOD JOB MOM! We have some for dinosaurs, legos, little people, and KC's cars. I've also used them to cart random toys to the park or lunch to the zoo. I'm very interested in having some for my own things (ahem, MOM) like sewing notions, hair tools, camera manuals, random cords etc. I am going to attempt to make a few next time I get my machine out but if my mom beats me to it, I'll definitely live:)
In the meanwhile, I'd like to give away one of my mom's creations. Comment below about your favorite storage piece or tip that you use in your home by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, February 14th. Assuming we have more that one comment, I will randomly select a recipient! Be sure we have a way to contact you. ~Kim

ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! My favorite storage in our home is our IKEA Spice Rack bookshelves! They really display the books nicely and Carter is sold on the cover art!

Don't judge that they are a bit messy...they are well loved (and used!) Ha ha!!
Sweet Sarah, if this is your 'mess', you are in pretty good shape!!
DeleteI love how you bundled the shelves and put them tot-height. My 18 month old would LOVE it! We hung some picture ledges for books above our snuggle/reading chair. Since I'm a bit decorating-impaired, it doubles as art!
I also really love the idea of your word wall that changes with activities done at home and at their little school. They can be proud of what they've done, reminded of the lesson, and you can throw in some familiar item labels. Very cute and smart:)
Thanks for the comment!
Adorable! We use over the door shoe holders (the ones with the clear plastic pockets) to store arts and crafts supplies in our hall closets. My daughter loves that she can see what's in the pockets and choose the supplies she wants.
ReplyDeleteWe use plastic totes that are shoebox size for everything crafty in our house. It just makes sense to have everything the same size. So much fun! Love the bags....iloveecuador@hotmail.com
DeleteHave a great day! i really like your blog!
Thank you for the great ideas! Where do you get plastic totes?

I am so excited to find your site. I am now following you through email. I store EVERYTHING in cute baskets. Any time I find them on sale or at a great price, I grab them. We use them to store all kinds of things: shoes in the front hall, our library books, toys...anything that will fit. :-) (Cherie Harris)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cherie! I love pretty baskets too. Thanks for commenting! Kim
DeleteI use clear plastic totes

After Googling 'clear plastic totes', I figured out that we have a few too! How did I not know what they were called?! Love them! I use the big ones for clothes and write the season/size using a dry-erase pen. With 3 and 1 year old boys, I feel like I'm constantly re-filling and relabeling them. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteThese are so cute! And I love that you can use whatever fabric you want to match what's inside! We have cubbies w. drawers and Im organizing them so that the blue ones have "baby stuff" and the other colors are for my 2 year old. Im going to try putting a picture on the front so I know what all goes in them! We will see how that works!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of pictures on the front. So cute and you could label it too so they would get a sight word! Thank you for your comment!
DeleteI finally invested in a organizer for my son's room. It allows for a variety of toys, yet it is organized by categories. He loves it...so does his Mama!

Your storage bags are very cool. I teach at an early childhood level, and these bags are a super way for kids develop association and sorting skills.

Hi hi! We use clear totes, hanging shoe racks and a chest of drawers labeled with what goes in each spot.

Thanks for the comment! We look forward to hearing more from you!!
DeleteWe have a bucket that we keep in the front room (out of eyesight) lol..I throw whatever I see throughout the day on the floor and at the end of the day all the kiddos must take whatever is their's back to their room :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I'd like to start giving my tots some 'chores' and this may be one we can start with. Thanks for the comment!
DeleteWhat a great idea the bags are! I love the fish one! I went to the dollar store and home store and bought really nice over the door hooks for the back of all my closet and bedroom doors. This gives everyone a place to hang bags, backpacks, belts, sweatshirts, scarves, etc. On the inside of the bedroom closet doors are the biggest shoe racks I could find! It is so much easier to keep rooms clean if you have a place for everything! njsunbunny at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteThe fish one is my favorite too! You are so right about having a place for things! It makes a huge difference. Thanks for your comment!
