Pancake fun

I found this squeeze bottle at Bed Bath and Beyond and thought it would make for some food fun. You can let the kids decorate cookies or cake or you could use it to fill things like pastry or strawberries, etc.  And, really, you could just keep a bottle of icing in the fridge to bust out in emergencies- "MOM! My pancakes are too plain!  We must ice them!"

Or . . . you could use the bottle to make interesting pancakes that don't need to be iced! or look prettier iced!

Write letters or draw shapes using the bottle and let it cook for a bit.
Remember that if you are doing letters, write them backwards so they come out correctly:)
Then, pour the batter over to make a nice pancake.  OR make shapes by filling in your drawing.
You could add food coloring or a bit of spinach or sweet potato to change the color of the batter too.
Mommy! These have my name on them!
Obviously, this does not mean that you shouldn't still keep icing on hand, ready to decorate and sweeten! Maybe I need to go and buy a few more bottles . . .

  2. This is wonderful! Especially since one of Carter's favorite things to do now is yell out "C for Carter!" "D for Daddy!"
